The Nigeria Sustainable Green Electric Mobility Solutions project, funded by the World Bank, is designed to facilitate the development of electric mobility in Nigeria. This transformative initiative aims to reduce air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and the adverse health and economic impacts associated with traditional mobility solutions.

The project undertook a comprehensive analysis to identify gaps and propose amendments to strategic documents and the regulatory framework. It explored the introduction of electric buses in Lagos and the deployment of 2- and 3-wheelers in rural areas, addressing the unique mobility needs of diverse regions. Additionally, the project developed innovative business models to encourage private sector participation in the electric mobility sector.

By promoting electric mobility, the project is poised to significantly enhance Nigeria's transportation infrastructure, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Furthermore, the initiative has substantial people-focused impacts, improving the quality of life for local communities by providing cleaner, healthier transportation options. Access to electric mobility solutions also creates new job opportunities and supports economic development, fostering a more resilient and prosperous future for Nigeria.
